Myakka is still "country" as of today. Development
seems to be very slowly moving towards that way and I'm sure once Parrish gets
built up and the very eastern part of Bradenton gets built up more and growth
pushes out towards Myakka, that Myakka will eventually end up like most
other towns/cities in Manatee County with subdivision after subdivision along
with new businesses and development and turning Myakka City into an
actual "city-like" atmosphere to suit its given name.
Sr-70 is still a two lane winding road driving through the
country passing cow pasture after cow pasture and horses along the way. Other
than Parrish & Duette, Myakka is still the only place left in Manatee
County where you are able to buy large tracts of vacant land.
